About the Trust

The Sri Sri Institute of Agricultural Sciences & Technology Trust is established by H. H. Sri Sri Ravishankarji with the main objective to provide opportunities in education, research and extension in different branches of Agriculture, Horticulture, Veterinary and Animal Sciences, Agricultural Engineering, Home Sciences, Forestry, Co-operation and Agribusiness and other allied fields.

The agriculture profession is mainly managed by small farmers, who do not possess adequate knowledge of management of Agri-produce. Due to improper management of Agri-produce at various levels the agriculture sector is lagging behind. The challenges & opportunities in this area are enormous. Main objective of the programme is to impart structured management skills to the new generation of students.

  • World Earth Day on 22nd April, 2021

    SSIAST celebrated the World Earth Day on 22nd April, 2021 in the model farm at the Art of living campus. The main theme of this celebration has been "Restore our Earth". All the staffs had come up with various placards in various languages spreading the message on preserving and restoring our mother earth. All staffs participated in planting of Lakshmi Taru (the miracle tree) saplings in the model farm. The CEO of SSIAST, Mr. S.R. Venkatesh explained about the importance of honey bees and on the need of preserving the mother earth. He also emphasized on reducing the use of plastics to save our mother earth.

  • Shri Ajay Jadhav

    Sri Sri agri teacher, Shri Ajay Jadhav honoured by Krishi Bhushan puraskar for natural farming by Maharashtra Govt. for 2020. Shri. Ajay Jadhav dedicated this honour to Gurudev.

  • 19th IFOAM Organic World Congress 2017 and BIOFACH INDIA together with INDIA ORGANIC 2017, celebrated their presence from 9th to 11th November 2017 at India Expo Centre & Mart, Greater Noida, India.

    • SSIAST as a regional council of National Conference on Organic farming participated and highlighted farmers’ work in organic especially with regards to innovations used on their farms. Presentations were given by Sri Ramkrishna Reddy ji , Chairman , SSIAST TRUST , Ms. Uma Maheshwari, Agri Apex member of Andhra Pradesh and Ms. Archana Jha, Agri Apex member of Delhi on the topics of Seeds & Biodiversity, Soil Fertility & Health, Soil Life & Plant Health, and the role of SSIAST Trust for the Ecological Farming Practices & Systems.
    • In the Scientific Track platform , research results were presented and discussed by our Krishi Ratna Awardee farmer Suraj Of Kerala, His papers were usefully linked with scientific disciplines such as soil, plant, animal, or economics , carrying an outline of how the research presented contributes to Organic 3.0 - The next phase of organic development.
  • AGRI pre TTP @ Jharkhad

    • Preliminary Teacher’s Training Program on Natural farming was conducted on 17th - 19th Nov 17 at Farmschool, Palojori, Deoghar, Jharkhand.The Senior Agri Teacher Bela ji took the training program.
    • Senior Agri Teacher Bela ji along with Jharkhad Agri APEX members inaugurated the training program.
    • The training program was attended by 15 participants.
  • Guruji inaugurates Tissue Culture Lab for rare plant preservation

    Guruji inaugurated Tissue Culture Laboratory at the Sri Sri Ayurveda College. Its primary aim is to preserve rare medicinal and agricultural plants. It will conserve and cultivate nearly extinct medicinal plants with potential to cure serious illnesses.

  • WOMEN OF INDIA – Organic festival 2017

    • We are pleased to inform all that the Ministry of Women and Child Development is organizing “WOMEN OF INDIA – Organic festival 2017” from 1st to 15th October 2017 at Dilli Haat.
    • The festival is being held at Dilli Haat near INA metro station, Maharaja Agarsen Marg, Kidwai Nagar, New Delhi.
    • It is a matter of immense pride that 14 women farmers who were trained by SSIAST are participating in the Organic festival in Delhi. SSIAST has trained many women farmers, out of which these 14 women farmers were selected. These farmers are firmly committed to promoting organic farming.
  • Preliminary Teacher’s Training Program on Natural farming

    • Preliminary Teacher’s Training Program on Natural farming was conducted on Sept 15th to Sep 17th,2017 at the Kerala Ashram, Maruthankuzhi, Trivandrum.
    • Brahamachari Deepak ji inaugurated the training program.
    • The Senior Agri Teachers Bela ji, Sathish ji and Narayanan Potti ji along with Agri APEX chairman Dr Ramachandran took the training program.
    • The training program was attended by 77 participants.
    • It included Agricultural, Practical, Group discussion and CD sessions taken by different teachers which involved lot of brainstorming ideas to promote Natural Farming.
  • Best Natural Farmer Award to M.Basha from village Lakshmapuram in Kurnool district AP. by Hon'ble CM Sri Chandra Babu Naidu at Vijayawada on 13th Jan,2017. Cash Prize of Rs.15,000/-

    He is getting 8,000 Kg of Green Chillies once every 15 days in 1.5 Acres. He is trained by SSIAST Trust in May, 2016 under the Pilot Project of training 2,000 Farmers in Orvakal and Midthur Mandals of Kurnool.
